Leon Barbot de Brux, 74, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Louise Lent de Brux entered into eternal rest Thursday, March 29, 2018. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in Cathedral of St. John The Baptist, 120 Broad Street at 10:00 a.m. Rite of Committal will be private. The family will receive friends Monday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Leon was born February 11, 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Leon Sebastian de Brux and Helen Barbot de Brux. He graduated in the class of 1966 from The Citadel. He served in the United States Armyduring Viet Nam. He later earned an MBA from The Citadel. He was a Senior Vice President with The Bank of South Carolina. Leon was an honorary Life Member of The Hibernian Society, a member of The New England Society and the Charleston Rotary Club Treasurer. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Louise of Charleston, SC; two daughters: Laura de Brux Tripodi (Andrew) of Marblehead, MA and Elizabeth de Brux Sutton (William) of Midlothian, VA; brothers: Joseph C. de Brux (Julie) of Isle of Palms, SC and Sumter F. de Brux (Clydie) of Sullivan’s Island, SC; sister, Anna Gray de Brux Prior (Gregory) of Hilton Head, SC; and five grandchildren: Caroline de Brux, Sarah Elizabeth and Anna Louise Tripodi, William Barbot, and Rebecca Elizabeth Sutton.
