Kenneth Frederick Oswald, of Longwood, FL, passed away on April 26, 2011. He was a practicing real estate attorney for 49 years. Ken was born on July 31, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA. His parents moved to Pittsburgh, PA, when he was three months old. His family moved to Orlando in 1948 where his parents opened a small grocery store called the Marketessen on Park Avenue in Winter Park, FL. Ken attended Memorial Junior High, Orlando High School, and graduated from Edgewater High School the first year it opened its doors in 1953. He attended the Citadel Military College in Charleston, SC, from 1953-1957. After graduation he spent two years in the Army. Upon his discharge he enrolled in Law School at the University of Florida and graduated in 1962. While attending Law School, he met his wife of 50 years, Sandra June Wolf. They were married in 1960. Ken and Sandy moved to Orlando and Ken joined the law firm of Giles, Hedrick, and Robinson. Later in the 60’s, he became an associate with the law firm of Ward and Bradford, later to become Ward, Bradford and Oswald. During the 60s, Ken and Sandy were blessed with four sons, Rick, Steve, Doug, and Kenny. In 1975, Ken entered the law practice as a sole practitioner of Real Estate Law. In 2000, his son Doug joined him in the practice, which became Oswald and Oswald. Ken was well respected in the field of Real Estate law and considered an attorney who was thorough and timely. He simplified the contract process, used clear language, and negotiated with what was reasonable in mind. Ken is survived by his wife, Sandy; his four sons, Rick (Georgeann), Steve (Beverly), Doug and Kenny; his grandchildren, Nina, Erik, Matthew and Preston; and a sister, Judy Laubscher (Louis), plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Ken was loved by his family, friends and many clients. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Reunion, FL, from 2 to 5 PM.
