Joseph Richard Shaluly, Jr., 48, of 110 Extended Lane, died Thursday, June 12, 2008. Born in Greenville, Mr. Shaluly was a graduate of J.L. Mann High School, the Citadel and then did post-graduate studies at Georgia State University. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. Surviving are his mother, Tickie Jones Shaluly of Greenville; his father, Joseph Richard Shaluly and his wife, Rachel, of Piedmont; a daughter, Mary Alice Shaluly of Pawley’s Island, S.C.; two sisters, Joanie S. Queen and her husband, Kevin Nash Queen, of Gaffney, S.C., Terri Shaluly-Muumaki and her husband, VP Muumaki, of Greenville; two brothers, Richard George Shaluly, of Nashville, Tenn., Jason Edgar Shaluly and his wife, Coleen, of Hilton Head, S.C.; a niece, Ashley Finley and her husband Randy; and two nephews, Kevin Nash Queen, Jr. and Jason Jones Shaluly. Recitation of the Rosary will be held Saturday, June 14, 2008, at 12:30 p.m., with visitation to follow at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial park.
