Joseph Harrison Henderson, III, of Metaire, LA, passed away peacefully at his home on December 5, 2018. Predeceased by his fiancé Susan Ann Guste, mother Constance Wilbur Henderson and father Joseph Harrison Henderson, Jr. Harry was born in Alexandria, Louisiana and attended Bolton High School, then accepted to The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina which in1968 received his bachelor’s degree in business administration, Harry obtained his law degree from Tulane University in 1971. After graduation, Harry was an associate attorney under the tutelage of New Orleans prominent Attorneys William “Billy” Guste, Jr (Louisiana Attorney General 1972 – 1992) and Roy F. Guste, Sr. In 1976 Harry was named a partner at the law firm Guste, Barnettt, Schlesinger, Henderson and Alpaugh until he retired August 2018. Harry was an avid tennis player, with numerous trophies from venues and a member at the New Orleans Lawn and Tennis Club. Harry had a passion for sports, especially the National Football League. He was one of the longest active sports agents in Louisiana history, and one of the longest active contract advisors. He was a licensed agent with the NFLPA and negotiated numerous contracts for many NFPLA players until his retirement in August 2018. He enjoyed being a member of the “The Quarter Back Club” and looked forward having lunch with the boys every Friday. He is survived by his sisters Constance R. Henderson and Anne Clothilde Henderson, his nieces and nephews Lauren, Whitney, Crispin and Winston, cousins Mrs. Stephen Broyles, Nee, Barbara Faith Bennet Broyles & family and longtime companion, Dr Marilyn Skinner. Harry touched the lives of many people and was truly one of a kind. He will be missed by anyone fortunate enough to call him a friend. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at a memorial service on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 3:00 pm in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and continue until service time.
