Jonathan A. Taylor, 22, passed overseas defending our country in Afghanistan December 1, 2009. Born in Jacksonville, April 8, 1987, Jonathan graduated from Wolfson High School. He was a member of JROTC and sea cadets. He enjoyed politics, history, was an avid Gator fan, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. He has received acclaimed awards such as: Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Certificate Of Commendation. He will be remembered for his dedication to God and country, his beautiful smile, and outgoing spirit. He will remain in our hearts forever. Jonathan leaves behind to cherish his memory, parents, Todd (Sue) Taylor, Kristine (James) Branch; grandmother, Gloria Beck; sisters, Mackenzie and Lauren Taylor; step-sister, Paige Larson; and many extended relatives and treasured friends. Family will accept friends on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at HARDAGE GIDDENS MANDARIN CHAPEL, 11801 San Jose Blvd. A Celebration of Jonathan’s Life will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Celebration Church, 10302 Deerwood Pk. Blvd. with interment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to www.woundedwarriorproject.org .
