John Vernon Featherstone passed on Wednesday, August 26, 2015; he was 68 years old. He is survived by his three children Tradd, Taryn and Ian. John was born in Alton, IL on March 25, 1947. John immediately began serving his country in the United States Navy upon graduating at the top of his class at the Citadel Military Academy in 1969, and retired at the rank of Commander in 1993, receiving multiple medals and commendations. Naval honors commemorating John’s service to his country will be conducted Friday, September 18 at 10:00 AM at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, 92122.
