Entered into eternal rest on the morning of August 29, 2002, John Louis Pennell, husband of Ann Roberts Pennell. Residence, Charleston, S.C. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. John Louis Pennell are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. Interment, Magnolia Cemetery. Friends may call at Stuhr’s Downtown Chapel, Friday, between 5 and 7 o’clock. Mr. Pennell was born March 10, 1934, in Charleston, S.C., the son of Shuford V. Pennell and Dorothy Illing Pennell. He was a graduate of the Citadel. He served as Vice-President of C.D. Franke and Co. and was most recently with Hughes Lumber Company of Charleston. He was a member and past president of the Arion Society and Member and Past Master of the Landmark Lodge #76. He is survived by his wife of Charleston, S.C.; his mother of Charleston, S.C.; three sons, Lt. Col John L. Pennell, Jr., and his wife Carrie of Goldsboro, N.C., Charles Edwin Pennell of Florida and Mitchell Roberts Pennell of Goose Creek, S.C.; one daughter, Julie Ann Pennell of Harleyville, S.C.; two brothers, W. Eugene Pennell of Charleston, S.C., and George I. Pennell of Anaheim, Calif.; two grandchildren, Ryan Alexander Pennell and Erin Ashley Pennell.
