Knox, III, Jack: John Jack G. Knox, III, loving husband of Anne Welling Knox, a native Charlestonian and resident of Muncy, Pennsylvania, entered into eternal rest on the morning of November 22, 2005. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Knox, III are invited to attend a memorial service for Jack on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at ten o’clock in The Summerall Chapel, The Citadel, with Reverend David Smith officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. Mr. Knox was born February 22, 1931 in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of the legendary Tennessee editorial cartoonist Jack Knox, Jr. and Edith Towler Knox. He was a 1953 graduate of The Citadel, where he attended on a football scholarship. He served in the United States Army in Korea. He retired as Project Manager with Koppers Company. Mr. Knox was a member and Trustee of The First United Methodist Church in Muncy, Pennsylvania. He was inducted into the Arland D. Williams Society on November 12, 2005. Jack was a member of Tau Beta Phi Fraternity. He is survived by his Mother of Woodbury, TN and his wife Anne; one daughter Cindy Knox Craddock and her husband Jim of Williamsport, PA; two sons: Edwin W. Knox and his wife Dennie of Centreville, VA and CDR John M. Knox, USCG and his wife Karen of Herndon, VA; one sister: Phoebe Binkley and her husband Bob of Nashville, TN; two brothers: Joseph T. Knox and his wife Jane of Richmond, VA and Britt A. Knox and his wife Faye of Woodbury, TN; 7 adoring grandchildren: Sia, Aaron, and Ian Walker, Dani, Sami, Zachary and Matthew Knox.
