E. Cobrda Scotch Plains,NJ Approx. Date of Death: 08/24/2006 Notice Mr. John E. Cobrda, 72 of Scotch Plains, N.J., died suddenly on Thursday August 24, 2006, in No. Plainfield, N.J. John was born in Danbury, living in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and settling to Scotch Plains in 1965. He was a graduate of The Citadel in South Carolina with a BA in business and attended NYU for his master’s. John was employed by NYNEX working in their public/community relations department; prior worked for the sales department. John worked for Metropolitan Insurance Co. in New York as a sales agent. He was a member of the BPOE, Elks Watchung Hills chapter, American Legion Westfield Post, lifelong member of the Sokals, and served his country during peacetime with the United Stated Air Force. John is survived by his wife, Wanda S. (nee Grabowski); 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Wendy S. Cobrda and husband Peter Buonfiglio, Deborah Cobrda Ringo and husband Chip, Christy Howe and husband Phil. John also has 7 grandchildren. Mass Monday August 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church, 2032 Westfield Ave., Scotch Plains. In lieu flowers donations may be made to the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 325, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076 or the Scotch Plains PBA #87, 430 Park Ave., Scotch Plains, NJ 07076. Arrangements are by the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave., Scotch Plains.
