MCCARTHY, JR., Jack John Jack Dunning McCarthy, Jr., husband of Thelma Newton McCarthy died Thursday, December 7, 2006 at his residence. The Memorial Service will be Friday, December 15, 2006 at the graveside, Magnolia Cemetery at eleven o’clock. ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Mr. McCarthy was born July 13, 1927 in Charleston, SC, son of the late John Dunning McCarthy and Gertrude Simms McCarthy. He was a graduate of Porter Military Academy and The Citadel, Class of 1949. He was formerly with the FBI and retired from I.L.A. as a Checker and he also served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Coastal Carolina Orchid Society, Fellowship Society Member, and former President of the I.L.A. #1771. Surviving are his wife, Thelma Newton McCarthy of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two daughters, Jean M. Harrison and her husband, David C. of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Susan M. Montgomery of Mt. Pleasant, SC; four grandchildren, Amanda Paige Harrison, Olivia Montgomery, Kelly Lewton and Karen Snyder; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Newton McCarthy and a grand-daughter, Krystal Marie Tart.
