John Christopher Locklair, Jr., 76, of Annapolis, MD died at his home on December 22, 2009 due to complications of cancer. Mr. Locklair was born in Mount Holly, SC and raised in Charlestown, S.C. He graduated from Chicora High School in 1951 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956. He graduated from the Citadel College in South Carolina in 1960. Mr. Locklair worked for David Taylor Research Center in Annapolis for six years as an electrical engineer and then worked at Westinghouse Oceanic Division as a Senior Electrical Engineer until retirement in 1993. Mr. Locklair enjoyed fishing, hunting, boat building, and gardening. He was a very devoted husband and father. Mr. Locklair is survived by his wife, Frances Lucille Locklair of Annapolis, MD; 2 sons, John Christopher Locklair, III of Edgewater, MD and Charles Alan Locklair of Annapolis, MD; late son, Robert Locklair; 2 daughters, Angela Maria Wharton of Olathe, KS and Valerie Lynn Suggs of Ferndale, WA; 1 brother, Douglas S. Locklair of Johns Island, SC and 1 sister, Carole Warrick of Sarasota, FL; 6 grandsons, Joshua Daugherty of Annapolis, MD, Jacob Locklair of Annapolis, MD, John Christopher Locklair, IV of Edgewater, MD, Powell Suggs, of Ferndale, WA, Nathaniel Suggs of Ferndale, WA, and Scott Davis of Camp Lejeune, NC; and 3 granddaughters, Christen Wharton of Olathe, KS, Rachael Suggs of Ferndale, WA, and Seanna Locklair of Annapolis, MD. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, December 28, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 1:00pm with the interment following at Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
