John Charles Gentile, age 70, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Goodyear, AZ. He was born on July 14, 1947 in Queens, New York to Frank and Marion Gentile. Following High School in Queens, New York, Dr. Gentile attended The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina where he was the Company D Commander and graduated pre-med in the class of 1968. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 1973 with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army for 2 years as a Captain in the Dental Corps. Dr. Gentile opened his first practice in Spartanburg, SC where he served that community for 8 years. He then furthered his education and attended Boston University where he graduated with a Certificate of Advance Graduate Study in Orthodontics in 1982. Dr. Gentile practiced Orthodontics for the next 25 years in Minot, ND, Greeley and Loveland, CO, and Goodyear, AZ retiring in 2007. After selling his practice, Dr. Gentile was able to enjoy life traveling with his wife, Maria, playing with his grandchildren, and perfecting his game of golf. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marion Gentile; late wife, Nancy Gentile. John is survived by his loving wife, Maria Gentile; brothers Robert and Anthony Gentile; son, John J. Gentile; stepchildren, Thomas Blanquez, Natalie and husband Camden Robinson and Ryan Moore; grandchildren, Miss Nancy Gentile, and Hayden & Tag Ryan Robinson. A visitation will take place on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 4:00 pm8:00 pm at Porter Loring Mortuary North. FUNERAL MASS Tuesday, February 6, 2018 11:30 am Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Father Martin Leopold will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery.
