John Carlos Faulkner passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, in Loveland, OH. He was 77 years old. John was born to the late Carlos and Eleanor Faulkner in 1946 in Kenton, Ohio.
Beloved husband of almost 53 years to Leah Faulkner, devoted father of Scott (Sarah) Faulkner and David (Erin) Faulkner, proud Grandpa of Connor Faulkner, Brendon Thomas, Micah Thomas, and Ellie Faulkner, generous brother of David (Judy) Faulkner, Steve (the late Kay) Faulkner, Jim (Linda) Faulkner, and Jane Faulkner.
John was very proud of where he grew up. He loved his brothers, twin sister, and the family farm. He graduated from The Citadel in 1968 and began serving in the US Army as a 2nd lieutenant. Shortly thereafter he married the love of his life, Leah Peeples. Later John received his master’s degree from Texas A&M, majoring in what would eventually become known as computer science and helped build Ford Motor Company’s first intranet systems. He was a brilliant mathematician and is best described as a fighter and a man who dedicated his life to challenge and learning.
John felt being involved in your communities was of the highest importance to living a good life. He volunteered in the church choir, served as a Sunday school teacher, coached sports for his sons, and helped the Boy Scouts of America by being a den leader, pack leader, and district chair for the Dan Beard Council. He had a voracious appetite for challenging himself in all manner of human endeavors and enjoyed shooting, skiing, woodworking, tennis, camping, painting, and occasionally a little white water rafting with his youngest son David. John also deeply loved watching his grandchildren grow and always looked at them with a sense of awe and hope for the future.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Megie Funeral Home and Crematory – Craver Chapel, 529 Main St., Milford, OH 45150 at 5 PM, where family and friends will be received from 3 PM until the hour of service at 5 PM.
