Mrs. JoAnn Raley Neal, 53, of Eutawville, wife of David Neal, died
Monday, March 22, 2010, in an auto accident. Funeral services will be 3
p.m., Thursday, at First Baptist Church, Holly Hill, with Dr. David
Brien and Rev. Steve Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Plantation
Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner. JoAnn was born in Liverpool, England, a
daughter of the late George Holling and Helen Holling Raley. She
graduated from the College of Charleston and received a Master’s degree
from The Citadel. A National Board Certified Teacher, she taught for 27
years in the Charleston and Berkeley County Public Schools as a loving
dedicated teacher to elementary school kids. JoAnn was a member of First
Baptist Church, Holly Hill. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, JoAnn
will be dearly missed. Surviving are her husband, David of Eutawville; a
daughter, Amy Elizabeth Neal (Zachary) Lyon of Dallas, Tex.; a son,
Jeffrey Scott (Elizabeth) Neal of Irmo; sisters, Barbara Raley and
Angela Raley, both of Isle of Palms, and Helena Brandenburg of
Fayetteville, N.C.; a grandson, Keaton Lyon; and expecting grandchild,
Ellasyn Neal. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this Wednesday evening at AVINGER FUNERAL HOME, HOLLY HILL.
