Jan Taylor Viser, 76, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Her Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 7, 2021, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends after the service for a reception at 615 Ellis Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. Jan was born July 24, 1944, in Jackson, Mississippi, daughter of the late James Harvey Viser and Annie Miller Viser. She was a graduate of the College of Charleston, summa cum laude, received her masters from the Citadel and taught in the Charleston County School District for 37 years. Janie Bell was an avid bridge player, loved walks on the beach with her two pups, and more than anything she loved Jesus. She also was a volunteer for hospice. She loved her nieces and nephews like her own, never missing an event that involved them. She is survived by her sister, Lyle Viser Turnage of Mt. Pleasant, SC; her brother, James H Viser III (Beth) of Suffolk, VA; her nieces, Emilie Turnage McCombs (William) and Annalyle Turnage Andrews (Christopher), both of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and her nephew, John O’Neill Turnage, Jr. (De) of Meridian, ID. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Taylor W. Turnage.
