James “Jim” Ray Douglas, Jr., age 51, of Malibu, Calif., entered eternity on October 27, 2021. He was born on November 24, 1969, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the son of James Ray Douglas, Sr. and the late Mary Arrington Douglas. He was a graduate of Episcopal High School where he played football and continued doing so for The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. Upon graduating from The Citadel, Jim served overseas as a missionary with a bold and unwavering delivery of the messages he shared, changing many lives for the better. He eventually returned to the States where he met and married the love of his life, Jennifer (Garrett) Douglas with whom he had two beautiful children, Jamison Rae Douglas and Braeden Garrett Douglas. Besides his father, wife, and children, he is also survived by his sister Mary “Molly” Arrington Douglas of New Orleans, his sister Anne Douglas Solomon and husband The Rev. James “Jim” A. Solomon, both of Baton Rouge, and two nieces whom he adored, Amanda Mary Solomon and Ashley Douglas Solomon. He will be terribly missed by his many friends and family, including his beloved dogs Trooper and Scout. From a young age, Jim not only had a great sense of humor, easily entertaining a small or large group of people, but was always loyal to those he loved, even standing up for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves. His teachers in school and in youth group will never forget his pranks, as he loved to laugh and make people laugh. Jim always had a great heart. He brought out the best in every person and every place he lived. Although having recently moved from Malibu to Colorado Springs, he will be put to rest in Baton Rouge. A service of celebration of life will be held at First Presbyterian Church 763 North Boulevard on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11:00am with visitation from 9:30am until 10:45am.
