Colonel (Retired) James “Jim” Michael Brennan, 67, of Austin, Texas, passed away on January 3, 2018. Jim was born November 5, 1950 in Havre de Grace, MD and grew up in Shamokin, PA where he graduated from Shamokin HS in 1968. He graduated from The Citadel, Charleston, SC, in 1972. He served in the US Army for 25 years, both stateside and overseas, where his leadership received Meritorious Service awards and Commendations. During his service, he earned his Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Arizona, where he also served as Recruitment Officer and Assistant Professor of Military Science. Following his retirement, he went on to hold leadership roles in solution architecture and digital transformation consulting. He recently retired from 15 years of service with Avanade, Inc, where he served as delivery director and executive. In his role as a subject matter expert, he is estimated to have trained and certified more than 1,000 consultants for the company. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Adrian (nee Schulenburg), brothers, William M Brennan (Diane) of Tucson, AZ, Robert Brennan (Karen) of Alamogordo, NM and sisters, Margaret Wagner of PA, Jacqueline Rector of PA; sister-in-law, Mayo S. Dikelsky of IL; nephews Robert Brennan of ?A, James and William Wagner of PA and nieces Ashley Brennan of ?A, Sandi Stettler OF PA and Sheryl Dikelsky of IL. A memorial service will take place at Harrell Funeral Home, in Austin, Tx on February 10, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. A reception for family and friends will be held at Silverado Onion Creek on February 10, 2018 from 1:00 – 3:00 at 11330 Farrah Ln , Austin, TX 78748.
