James Breckenridge (Brec) Burch ,age 61 , of Harrison, Tenn., passed away on Monday August 3, 2026. Born October 6, 1964 at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina to the late James Ervin Burch and Glenda Buddin Burch. James is survived by his wife of 40 years Karen Ragin Burch, son James Harrelson (Andrea Burch), grandson James Breckenridge Burch II, granddaughter Anna Caroline Burch, son William Chase (Taylor) Burch, granddaughter Atley Elizabeth Burch, grandson William Chase Burch Jr, granddaughter Maryella Winsley Burch. Sister Des Renee (Randy) Baxley, Nephew Samuel Christopher Maddox, Niece Jo Hannah Maddox and an extended family on both sides.
While his Dad was in the Air Force he went to Okinawa, Japan as a young child. The family moved around a bit until landing in Marion, SC. His love of anything military led him to excel at Riverside Military Academy becoming a Commander of an international group of cadets. Upon graduation, he continued his education at the Citadel joining the long gray line with the class of 1986.
Brec started his career in Textile management got his MBA and transitioned into a 20 year profession in Pharmaceutical Sales. His marriage with Karen was one of great joy, laughter and true best friends. Together they provided a home full of love in which their sons could feel safe, inspired and free to be silly like their Dad. Brec had no interest in growing up.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 in the morning on Saturday August 29,2026 at Olde Towne Athletic Club, Marietta GA, at the request of the family please dress casual. If you are able to attend this event, kindly email [email protected] with the expected number in your party.
