J. Rodney Clark, age 80, went to his heavenly home on Monday, May 30, 2022. Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” His life verse is a testament to the life he so richly lived.
Rod is survived by his wife of 55 years Judith Ann Clark and his two children Jeff Clark and Allyison Clark Merritt (Tom). He adored his 6 grandchildren Clark, Addie, Lydia, Zoe, Emma and Nathan and had 4 great grandchildren Mercer, Boone, Grady, and Jack. Rod is also survived by his brother Larry Clark (Sherry).
Born in Orlando Florida, Rod grew up in College Park and attended Edgewater High School. Rod graduated from The Citadel in 1963 from Echo Company. While serving in the Air Force following graduation, Rod met his wife Judy while stationed in California. After moving back to Orlando, Rod began his real estate career at Gale Associates and then became a partner in Atkins, Green, Stauffer, Clark, and Co. This company was later acquired by Merrill Lynch, Prudential Florida Realty, and Arvida Realty. Rod retired at Coldwell Banker Residential as the Metropolitan President of Central Florida. Rod worked in real estate for over 40 years. He also enjoyed serving and leading the Greater Orlando Area Board of Realtors as well as the YMCA Metro Board of Directors and Rotary Club. Rod was an active member of First Baptist Orlando for over 30 years. Sharing the love for his Savior allowed him to serve and influence countless lives. Rod was an avid golfer, lover of people, ice cream connoisseur, and a Citadel Bulldog.
A celebration of life service will be held in the Henry Chapel at First Baptist Church of Orlando,
3000 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, Florida at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2022. A reception and lunch for those attending will be held in Faith Hall following the celebration.
