John Larry Roland, age 67, of Goose Creek, SC, died Saturday, April 18, 2015. He was born on July 23, 1947 to the late John Roland and the late Viola Roland of Batesburg, SC. Larry was a Citadel graduate, Class of 1969. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969-1972. Larry retired after over 30 years of service as a Controller/Financial Officer of Maybank Properties, Charleston, SC. He was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years: Gale Roland, of Goose Creek, SC; one Sister: Linda R Bodie (Edward), of Leesville, SC; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 869 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
