LEMPESIS, J. Louis J. Louis Lempesis, husband of Ann Dana Pillas Lempesis of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on the evening of March 25, 2005. The relatives and friends of Mr. Lempesis are invited to attend his services in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Tuesday at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Stuhr’s West Ashley Chapel, Monday between 6:00 and 8:00 o’clock where a Trisagion will be held at 7:00 o’clock. Mr. Lempesis was born May 15, 1919 in Charleston, SC; a son of William Peter Lempesis and Coula Clainos Lempesis. He was a 1938 graduate of Charleston High, and while there, he served a senior class president competing successfully in Golden Gloves boxing tournaments. He was a Citadel graduate of the class of 1942 where he was inducted into the Citadel Athletic Hall of Fame and also inducted into the North and South Carolina Boxing Hall of Fame. He served as a fighter pilot in the US Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law and practiced law in Charleston for 48 years. He was a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and the Charleston County Bar Association. He was a member of the Hibernian Society. Surviving are his wife, Ann Dana Pillas Lempesis of Charleston, SC; a son, Basil Louis Lempesis and his wife, Laurie Miller Lempesis; a granddaughter, Dana Rion Lempesis of Charleston, SC and a sister, Katina Lempesis of Charleston, SC.
