Hughland Lamarr Tyner, Sr. age 85 of Gainesville, Ga passed away on Monday January 18, 2021 at Sunrise Assisted Living following an extended illness. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Jim Austin will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday January 21, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Tyner was born on August 04, 1935 in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Coley Tyner and Addie Patterson Tyner. He was retired as a District Engineer with the Georgia Department of Transportation and was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church. Mr. Tyner also served in the United States Air Force and was a proud graduate of the Citadel. He is preceded death by his parents, wife, Betty Sears Tyner, Brother, Randall Tyner, sister, Vaughnde Honstetter. Hughland is survived by his son, Hugh Tyner, Jr. of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Ivie (Bill) of Snellville, son and daughter-in-law, Chris Tyner (Lisa) of Woodstock, sister, Priscilla Klockzien of Neenah, Wisconsin, grandchildren, Lexia Tyner, Pierce Tyner, Stone Tyner, Trenton Ivie, Evan Ivie, Austin Ivie, and Ava Tyner.
