Herbert Anglo Timmons, Jr. age 78, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Waccamaw Community Hospital.
Born in Lake City, SC, he was a son of the late Treva and Herbert Timmons, Sr. Mr. Timmons graduated from Lake City High School in 1955 and from The Citadel in 1959. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Korea. He worked with IGA Wholesalers in Lake City, SC and owned and operated Fender Menders in Myrtle Beach and helped start the Fender Menders in Charleston and Mt. Pleasant, SC. Mr. Timmons was a member of Belin Memorial United Methodist Church and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid golfer, passionate sports fan and scholarship donor to The Citadel football team. He was preceded in death by a sister, Treva Angela Timmons, mother of his children, Gloria V. Timmons, and Aunt Bu.
Survivors include his wife Wanda Ridenhour Timmons; his children, Bert Timmons, Charles and his wife Jewel Timmons, and Truie Timmons; grandchildren, Charlie, Trevor, Joshua, Hudson, Emily, and Ben Timmons; step-children, Carlos and Carol Huesca, Tom and Nancy Wilkinson; step-grandchildren, Renee and Emily Huesca, TC, Taylor and James Wilkinson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. B. Mike Alexander, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service at the church. Burial will be 3:00 PM at Lake City Memorial Park, Lake City, SC.
