Harold David Lynch, age 71, of Fairview, Texas, passed away April 3, 2008, at his home. He was born February 28, 1937, in Washington, DC, the son of Edward and Marie (Murphy) Lynch. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, was a graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, and he also earned his Masters Degree at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas. He retired with the rank of Colonel. On April 7, 1961, he married Bettye Rice in Denison, Texas. He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Bettye; children, Karen Hunt of Denison, TX, Jeffrey Mallow of Irving, TX, Susan Cartledge of Martinez, GA, and Patricia Hightower and her husband, Dean of Littleton, CO; grandchildren, Jennifer Walker, Jeremy and Jana Hunt, Tasha Hobbs, and Blake Hightower; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Lynch of Alexander, VA; and sisters, Paula McVeigh and her husband Robert of Panama City Beach, FL and Margaret Hopkins of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandson, Judd Hunt. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, April 7, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Danny Buster officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at DFW National Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
