It is with great sadness that the family of Hadley R. Young, of Bradenton, FL, announces his passing on Friday February 16th, 2018 at the age of 88. Hadley R. Young, M.D. born Nov. 25, 1929 in Duluth, Mn. of Thomas O. Young, M.D. and ( Jane Manning ). He attended the Lab School of the Duluth State Teachers College and helped to organize several reunions. He also attended Duluth East Junior High School and Central High School. He then went on to The Citadel where he set a South Carolina record in swimming and completed his schooling as a Distinguished Military Graduate. He then attended Duke University Medical School and interned at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. He went on to spend 3 years in the U. S. Army Medical Corps during which time he graduated from the U. S. Naval Flight Surgeon Program at Pensacola, Fl. and had a tour of military duty in Germany. He then completed a 3 year Fellowship in Dermatology at the Univ. of Minn. and The Mayo Clinic and subsequently was in the private medical practice of Dermatology in Duluth, retiring in 1989. In retirement he was active in downhill ski instruction and in organizing many Ballroom Dance Parties at the Greysolon Plaza Ballroom. He also belonged to several clubs and organizations including The Duluth Rotary Club and Northland Country Club. He is survived by Rasch Young, Sheelagh Young and Hollie Young of Colorado. Brothers Tom (Marylu) and Allen (Janet) Young six Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. The family would like to thank Heritage Haven for their exceptionally compassionate care. A funeral service in memory of Hadley will be held on Tuesday February 20th, 2018 at Pilgrim Congregational Church 2310 E. 4th Street, Duluth, MN 55812 at 1:00 PM.
