Grover Lindsay Anderson, born in Camden, South Carolina, age 91, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away peacefully at his home on March 3, 2025. He was a 1968 Graduate of Emory University School of Medicine Department of Neurosurgery. He attended the University of South Carolina where he was affiliated with Sigma Chi fraternity and graduated from the Citadel in Charleston, S.C. At The Citadel he was a member of the pre-medical society, American Ordnance Association, the Rifle Team, and Junior Sword Drill and associate editor of the school yearbook. In his senior year he was a member of the South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra, member of the Citadel Band, tennis team, designated Distinguished Military Student, Distinguished Military Graduate, and Honor Student for academic achievements. He held the rank of Cadet Captain on the Regimental Staff of The Citadel and upon graduation entered the Medical College of South Carolina to attain his M.D. degree.
In addition to his medical career, he was an accomplished pilot, pianist, outdoorsman, and beloved caretaker of his many show quality dachshunds. A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Parish in Decatur, Georgia on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Grover was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Grover Anderson, and wife, Cornelia Coombs “Nena” Heyward. He leaves his daughters and grandchildren to cherish his memory, along with family in Camden.
