Gordon W. Knight, of Winter Park, Fla., died July 25, 2008.  He was a former electronics engineer with NASA’s Manned Spacecraft Center in Cape Canaveral, Fla., where he was the special launch team chief and played a key role in the launch of Apollo 10.  In 1987, Knight retired after 26 years with NASA at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.  He then received a master’s degree in theological studies from Reformed Theological Seminary-Orlando in 1996.  Knight was a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Orlando, where he was a co-leader of the Caleb’s Pilgrims seniors group.  Knight was an active member of The Citadel Alumni Association. He is survived by his mother, four daughters and eight grandchildren. Tags: 1957
