On 18 February 2018 Gerald C. McKinney, of Shreveport, La., went to be with the Lord. He was born 22 July 1940 in Ninety Six, South Carolina to Bryant Glenn and Lillie May McKinney. Gerald grew up in Greenwood SC. He attended Greenwood High School and Graduated from The Citadel in 1962. He served in the US Air Force participating in 3 tours in Vietnam as a Navigator and Intelligence Officer. He left the Air Force in 1968. He became a Regional Planner in Greenwood then Georgetown SC. He and his family moved to southern Maryland where he went back to his love of airports as a partner/airport owner. He left Maryland in 1980. Gerald managed New Orleans International Airport. In 1991 Gerald moved to Saudi Arabia where he coordinated construction plans of the worlds largest and most modern airport. Gerald came back to the US and managed airports in Baton Rouge and Shreveport where he retired in 2012. He is survived by his wife Nae Hwa, three sisters Dolly, Yvonne and Ruth, two Sons Marc and Scott and six grandchildren.
