TITUSVILLE — George R. Mizell, Sr., died Thursday, October 24, 2002 at Parrish Medical Center after an extended illness. He was 77 years old. Born in Morehead City, N.C. on October 9, 1925. The son of Clarence Hyatt Mizell, Sr. and Dora Styron Mizell. Mr. Mizell attended schools in Charleston, S.C., and is a graduate of The Citadel. His career included 20 years and retirement from IBM and a second retirement from McDonnell Douglas. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II an Korea. Mr. Mizell was an avid fisherman in his spare time. Mr. Mizell was a Christian and Baptist by profession of faith. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Viola McGowenMizell; two sons, George R. Mizell, Jr. of St. Mary’s Ga. and Richard Alan Mizell of Merritt Island; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Mizell; three grandsons, Richard Alan, II, Kyle, and Matthew. He leaves two sisters, Lena M. Racioppa of Huger, S.C. and Ann M.Winters of Hanaham, S.C.; three sisters-in-law, Evanelle M. Hall of Daphne, Ala., Sissy M. Brinson of Hanaham, S.C., and Margie M. Dobson of North Charleston, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews. Viewing hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 28th, at BrevardMemorial Funeral Home in Cocoa. Burial will be private.
