A funeral service for George M. Stone, 73, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 511 Knights Hill Road, Camden. The Rev. James Smith, the Rev. Angela Marshall and the Rev. Barbee Parsons will officiate. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Cemetery, Summerton.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.

Mr. Stone passed away on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late George S. and Ruth Rhame Stone. He was a public school teacher, beginning his career in music and later transitioning to special education. As an accomplished musician, he served in the music ministry of several churches, starting as a young boy at Home Branch Baptist Church. Most recently, he served more than 20 years as church musician at St. Paul United Methodist Church, where he was a member.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Sylvia Ardis Stone; sister, Deborah S. Alford (Mike) of Sumter; and five nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Charles “Buck” Ingram.
