George “Tony” Frederick von Kolnitz IV, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Anne Antrim von Kolnitz, entered into eternal rest Thursday, April 20, 2023. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 24, 2023 in the Grace Church Cathedral, 98 Wentworth Street, at 2:00 pm. Interment with military honors will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd. Tony was born November 16, 1939 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late George Frederick von Kolnitz III and Catherine Towles von Kolnitz. Graduating from The Citadel, Class 1961, he served and retired as a Colonel in the Air Force Reserve and as the Director of Engineering from MUSC. He will be remembered for the way he loved his country, friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Anne; children, Marion Halsey von Kolnitz (Bob Leland), Hayne von Kolnitz (Elizabeth), Fritz von Kolnitz (Amanda Carlsten); four grandchildren, Chris Huff (Whitney), Robbie Huff (Rachel), Halsey von Kolnitz, and Thomas von Kolnitz; two great-grandchildren, Ruthie Huff, and Hayes Huff; and brother, Dwight von Kolnitz. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, the mother of his children, Lucille von Kolnitz.
