George Frederick McClelland, of Chicago, Former Captain of the US Marine Corp, passed away on November 24, 2015. Beloved husband of Caroline (nee Saric). Loving father of Collin (Kathryn) McClelland. Stepsons Greg (Jaqueline), and Geoffrey Magsaysay. Beloved son of the late George and Helen McClelland. Fond grandfather of Liam and Pierce McClelland, and Trevor Magsaysay, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. George attended St. Bede Academy in Peru, Illinois and later The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. He enlisted in the US Marine Corp after graduating in 1966 and served his country well as a Marine being awarded two Bronze Stars and the Vietnamese Medal of Honor. Funeral Tuesday 9:30am from Michael Coletta Sons Funeral Home 544 W. 31st St. (Chicago) to St. Jerome Croatian Church Mass 10am Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
