Name Residence: Geoffrey H. Hill Sr East Brunswick,NJ Date of Death: 05/17/2007 Notice Dr. Geoffrey H. Hill Sr. died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at home. He was 60. Born in New Haven, Conn., he was a life long Milltown resident. He was a member of United Methodist Church at Milltown. After graduating from Springfield College, Geoff entered the Navy, serving aboard USS Robert H. McCard (DD822) during the Vietnam War at the rank of LTJG. After his discharge, he began his teaching and coaching career while earning his masters degree from The Citadel in South Carolina, then his doctorate from Rutgers. Geoff coached at Rutgers under Frank Burns during their winning streak and was head coach at Roselle Park for the 1979 State Football Championship. Geoff continued his teaching and three-sport coaching career for the Monroe Board of Education from which he retired in 2005. Geoff continued coaching football and track at Spotswood High School. Geoff was proud of the accomplishments that he made in his personal and professional life and always strived to make a positive mark on those he came in contact with. Geoff also volunteered with National Youth Sports Coaching Association as a certified instructor for certifying local volunteer youth coaches. He was predeceased by his father C. Harrison Mike Hill in 1997. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Johnson Hill; three sons, Geoffrey Jr. of Helmetta, Christopher and his wife, Shawna, of Chicago and Brett and his wife, Melinda, of Milltown; his mother, Patricia Hill, of Monroe Village; a brother, Dr. Todd Hill, of Milford, Pa., and three grandchildren, Antoinette, Christopher Jr. and Brett Jr. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at United Methodist Church at Milltown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
