Fritz Bradford Bodenheimer, 82, of Louisville, Ky., passed away on January 1, 2024, surrounded by family and listening to The Eagles. Born April 16, 1941, in Freeburn, KY.
He was a force to be reckoned with from an early age, proving his strength on the football field at Lafayette High School, The Citadel, and the University of Kentucky. He served in the United States Air Force (1963-1967), where he achieved the rank of Captain. Fritz enjoyed hitting the ski slopes and driving around in his Corvette and Chris Craft boat. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.
After earning his Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Kentucky, his professional success included an illustrious career in Northern California as a commercial insurance broker, earning him recognition as a Who’s Who in the insurance industry. Fritz loved spending time at Lake Tahoe and the beaches of Florida. Most recently, he became well known as a judge on the regional BBQ circuit through the Kansas City Barbeque Society.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Jaqueline Suzanne (McNabb); his daughter, Jennifer Leigh; his sister, Scarlett (Michael Brewer) Cameron; his nieces Tara (Mac) Winker and Suzy (Jan Lineberry) Cameron. Preceded in death by parents Shirley Bradford and Eddie Gypsy (Grose) Bodenheimer.
Fritz’s private interment will be at the Louisville Memorial Gardens East on January 11, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date for his family and friends.
