Frederick S. McGarry, former resident of Yonkers, NY died on December 22, 2004, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 3, 1936 to the late Margaret Gray and Frederick McGarry. Fred retired as a Detective from the New York Police Department in 1981, he then joined the U.S. Army and retired with a rank of Major. He attended St. Francis Prep, The Citadel, St. Francis College and obtained his Masters Degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. During his Army career he taught ROTC at Fordham University. Devoted and proud father of Tara McGarry of New York City, Stephen McGarry of Yonkers and Suzanne and her husband Jr. Moore of Lincroft, NJ. Cherished grandfather of Quinn and Shaye Moore. Dear brother of Peggy Lacourciere. He will be remembered for his devoted love for his family and his country and his deep affection for his many friends and music. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville between the hours of 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial Annunciation Church, Crestwood on Monday, December 27 at 10 am.
