Frederick Lynwood Burroughs passed away peacefully Sunday, April 19, 2009. He is survived by a loving family: his wife of 60 years, Myra Duke Burroughs; his sons and their families: Frederick and his wife Debra, Richard, John and his fiance Anne Marie, Greg and his wife Mia; and his grandsons Billy and David. He was a veteran of World War II and a 1950 graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. Fred was a civil engineer with the Virginia Department of Highways for 35 years where he retired as the Construction Engineer for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He was a valued member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he served his congregation and community with love and compassion. Friends and family are invited to attend the celebration of his life.
