Fred Wood Williams, 73, of Lake Jackson passed away at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 10, 1937, in Shamrock, Fla., to parents Lillian and Thomas N. Williams. He was reared in North Charleston, S.C. Fred was a cadet at The Citadel Military College of South Carolina, from which he graduated in 1959. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked in many fields of construction all of his adult life and was a project manager for many energy-related projects, both domestic and abroad. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol; daughters, Susan L. Williams, Raquel K. Williams; sons, Fred W. Williams Jr., wife Karina, and Travis T. Williams, and wife Jobeth. He was blessed with three grandsons, Fred. W. Williams III, Paul R. Williams, Brandon T. Williams; one granddaughter, Hannah E. Williams, and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother and mother-in-law. A celebration of FredÆs life will be held at First Baptist Church in Lake Jackson on Saturday, June 12, at 2 p.m. Tags: 1959
