Dr. Fred M. Lambert, 72, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004. Born Dec. 31, 1931, in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late William Pinckney and Iva Berthalee Garrison Lambert. He was married to Mary Jeannette Ammons Lambert. He was a graduate of The Citadel, the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his internship at Spartanburg General Hospital. He did his residency at Walter Reed Medical Hospital. He retired from his 34-year pediatric practice in Lancaster in 2002. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of Lancaster; three sons, Michael Wayne Lambert and his wife, Marlayna, David Mitchell Lambert and his wife, Tammie, of Greer, and Hugh Lamar Lambert and his wife, Kelly, of Lancaster; two daughters, Karen Denise Lambert Whitaker and her husband, Greg, and Linda Michelle Lambert Ward and her husband, Terry, all of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren, Cory, Matthew, Justin, Jordan, Dylan, Austin, Zachary, Alex, Wade and Ashby; three great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Kathryn Lambert Motsinger of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Ruth Lambert Palmer of Tryon, N.C. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Emmett Horace Lambert, William Perry Lambert and Jack Leonard Lambert. Services were held Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Dr. Dale Roach and Dr. Harold Owens, with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rock Hill. Mahaffey Funeral Home was in charge.
