Leinhardt, Franklyn J. Franklyn J. Leinhardt, 73, died on Friday, January 13, 2006, at his home in York Township. He was the husband of Janice (Bowman) Leinhardt, his wife of 33 years. Mr. Leinhardt was born in Hungerford, now part of Shrewsbury, on September 4, 1932, a son of the late S.J. and Edna (Rehmeyer) Leinhardt. He graduated from Eichelberger High School in Hanover in 1950, attended the Citadel, and graduated from Gettysburg College in 1954. For most of his life, he worked in the family retail furniture business, Leinhardt Bros., Inc., and its subsidiaries, most recently Sofas Plus in West York. He played the clarinet in his high school and college bands, participated in several community organizations, and was active in the local theater community for many years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lynne Hurd and her husband, Tim of Hanover and Eve Iverson and her husband, Hal of Mound, Minn.; plus three stepchildren, Dr. Elizabeth Cantwell and her husband, David, of Los Alamos, N.M., Thomas Cantwell, III, and his wife, Cheryl of Liberty Hill, Texas and Douglas Cantwell of Martinez, Calif. He is also survived by two grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. After cremation, a memorial service will be held at Workinger-Semmel Funeral Home, 849 E. Market St., York, on Saturday, January 21, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mental Health Association Compeer Program, 303 E.
