Francis Monroe “Frank” Byrdic Jr., 50, of Rock Hill, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Piedmont Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at West End Baptist Church, with the Revs. Scott Carroll, Mike Surratte and Daniel Wackerhagen officiating. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grandview Memorial Park-Cherry Road. Born in Savannah, Tenn., Mr. Byrdic was the son of Joan Horton Byrdic of Rock Hill and the late Francis Monroe Byrdic. He was a member of West End Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher. He was a graduate of The Citadel and worked at Bowater for 27 years. He was currently the South Pointe Choral Booster Club President for the 2nd year and was a member of I-520 Motorcycle Group. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Mary K. Byrdic of the home; two daughters, Hannah Joy Byrdic and Bonnie Faith Byrdic, both of the home; and his sister, Cheryl A. Byrdic of Rock Hill. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Byrdic’s name to the American Heart Association , 310-B Bennett Center Dr., Greer, SC 29650 or to West End Baptist Church, 1727 McConnells Hwy., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
