MURRELLS INLET – Emmett Edward Bitsy Johnson, age 65, of the Live Oak Community, died Saturday, May 10, 2003, at Waccamaw Community Hospital following an illness. Mr. Johnson was born April 19, 1938, in Winston-Salem, N.C., a son of the late Emmett Charles and Elizabeth Pitts Johnson. He was a 1960 graduate of the Citadel and was a member of the Summerall Guards, past president of the S.C. Christian Association, Former County Administrator of Hampton and Claridon County, past president of the S.C. Association of Counties, Member of St. Peter’s Masonic Lodge #54 A.F.M., Omar Shrine Temple and Royal Order of Jesters. Surviving are: his wife, Sandra Johnson of the home, step-father, William V. Bowers of Manning, son, Ed Johnson and wife, Laura of Nunapitchuk, Alaska, grandson, Lyle Johnson of Nunapitchuk, Alaska, and brother, Andrew C. Johnson of Fairfax, S.C. Graveside services will be held 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery with members of the Omar Shrine Temple and Royal Order of Jesters Court #113 as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends at GOLDFINCH FUNERAL HOME, BEACH CHAPEL, from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday. Memorials may be made to Belin Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O.
