Edward Loyless Murray, Jr. 95 of Littleton, NC passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020.
He was born in Summerville, South Carolina to the late Edward Loyless Murray, Sr. and Blanch Krider Murray and was also preceded in death by his wife Virginia Keirn Murray.
Edward was a graduate of the Citidel and was the Commander of the Roanoke Rapids National Guard for many years, founder and operator of Halifax Builders for many years, a Veteran in the U.S. Army, Engineer at the paper mill for several years, a member of the VFW, member of Rosemary United Methodist Church and was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.
Edward is survived by his Daughter, Veronica “Ronnie” Murray Hawkins and her husband Curley of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his son, Edward G. “Eddie” Murray of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his four grandchildren, Hunter Sutton of Coral Springs, Fl., Katie Murray of Raleigh, NC; Laura Murray of Charlotte, NC and Hannah Murray of Greenville, NC.
A service to celebrate Edward’s Life will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. This service will also be livestreamed via Facebook Live on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Funeral-Service—Cemetery/Askew-Funeral-Cremation-Services-167180379961379/
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a limited number of 50 attendees including, family staff and guests. Guests will be asked to sign the online register book.
Interment will be private.
