Edward Donnald (Don) Allison, 76, of Troy died Monday, June 21, 2004 at Troy Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Mr. Allison was born March 30, 1928 in Honea Path, South Carolina. He played on the Honea Path State Champion Football Team in 1945. He attained the rank of E5 Sgt. in the Army and served in France during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Allison served in the Medical Corp in San Antonio and was discharged in 1956. He attended the Citadel for two years and finished his chemistry degree at Erskine College in 1952. He worked for Wythe Pharmaceuticals from 1953 until 1987. He was the Greens Superintendent for the Troy Country Club from 1988 until 1994 and was also involved in the Troy Beautification Project for the City of Troy. Survivors include two sons, David Allison of Mobile and Ward Allison of Glenwood; daughter, Robin Allison Muse of Carrollton, Georgia; grandchildren, Jake and Virginia Allison of Glenwood and Benjamin Muse of Carrollton, Georgia; brother, Jack Allison of Honea Path, South Carolina and a sister, Eleanor McNinch of Honea Path. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
