Edward B. “Ned” Schofield Age 72, of Auburndale, unexpectedly on August 18th. Beloved husband of Susan (Dougherty); son of the late Marguerite B. and Edward J. Father of Kevin and Karen of Boston, Sean and Michelle of Boston, Christopher and Lindsay of Dedham. Grandfather of Brian and Patrick. Brother of Peter and Janice of South Boston, Paul of Roslindale, Kevin of Roslindale, Marguerite and Frank Welter of Walpole, Andrea D’Amato and Michael of Roslindale. Survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins all over the world. Our father, taoiseach, teacher. Ever learning, living, loving and playing. Wise and strong, humble and proud. A handsome bookworm with an athlete’s physique. Gifted in so many ways, but a fierce ally of underdogs and the underserved. A guiding light for family and friends. Thank you for everything you taught us? We’ve always looked up to you, now we will just have to look little higher. You were poetry in motion.
