Colonel Earnest Warren Deadwyler, of Richardson, Texas, passed away on December 2, 2017, at the age of 89. He was born in Columbus, Georgia on May 1, 1928 to Philip Elcain Deadwyler and Laura Hill Deadwyler. He served in Saudi Arabia, Germany and Vietnam. His military experience included air defense and ballistic missile defense research and development and logistics support. He was a graduate of The Citadel, with advanced degrees from The Ohio State University and Auburn University. He also was a graduate of the Air War College and was an instructor at the Army Command and General Staff College. He had broad interests in history and current affairs and lectured in continuing education programs at Collin College and Richland College.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia of 51 years and daughter, Elizabeth Robinson of Atlanta, Georgia, four grandchildren: Logan and Lauren Gold and Christian and Seth Robinson, sister, Sue May (John) and five nieces and nephews and their families, all of whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Diana Gold Cesario, and his sister Beverly Essex.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church – Richardson, located at 503 North Central Expressway, Richardson, Texas 75080, on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Stephen Ministry program of FUMCR.
