Edwin Corprew Reed, 82, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 of natural causes. His Funeral Service with military honors will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. Edwin was born February 24, 1942 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the son of the late Wallace Litchfield Reed and the late Katherine Meyer Reed. A graduate of The Citadel class of 1964, Corp proudly served in the United States Army and wore the Bronze Star, he was awarded the Purple Hearts twice for wounds received in Vietnam, National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal. His career in international finance took him to New York, London, and Hong Kong. Corp enjoyed being a member of the Lion’s Club, and American Legion Post 0166 in Goose Creek. Playing trivia was one of Corp’s favorite pastimes. The vast knowledge he possessed from his life experiences and travels made him a valuable trivia teammate and a great friend to his team in North Charleston. He was also an avid surfcaster, runner, and hunter. He will be remembered for the way he loved his family and country. He is survived by his two sons, Edwin Corprew Reed, Jr. of Seattle, WA, and John Mitchell Reed, Lulita Duke Reed (John’s wife) of New York, NY, two grandchildren, Laila Reed, and Penelope Reed; his sister, Susan Norman Reed, and sister-in-law, Caroline Bradley Reed, and his grandniece, Lily Reed.
