Ernest Adolph (Dolph) Rodenberg, Jr., 88, of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, husband of Joanne Ingram Rodenberg, died Thursday, July 13, 2017. His Cryptside Service will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Dolph was born May 17, 1929 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Ernest Adolph Rodenberg and the late Greta Schroeder Rodenberg. He graduated from The Citadel and served in the United States Air Force. He was a retired owner of Budget Rent A Car and was a member of the German Friendly Society. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joanne Rodenberg of Isle of Palms, SC; four sons, K. Paul Rodenberg of Mount Pleasant, SC, E. Adolph Rodenberg, III (Robin) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Mark I. Rodenberg of Isle of Palms, SC, and J. Kurt Rodenberg (Alice) of Savannah, GA; daughter, Jan R. Hardman (Doug) of Johns Island, SC; sister, Lois R. Green of Gainesville, FL; brother, John S. Rodenberg (Catherine) of Mount Pleasant, SC; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
