Dudley Taylor Bunn, 78, of Atlanta, GA and formerly of Middleburg, VA passed away on April 20, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Atlanta, GA. Col. Bunn was born in Fairfax, Ga in 1929. He was a 1950 graduate of The Citadel. Following graduation, he married Elizabeth (Cissy) in 1950. They were married 52 years and raised 3 children. He spent 27 years as a career Military officer with the Infantry Army. He was a decorated war veteran of both the Korean and the Viet Nam wars and was a recipient of many awards, including the Silver Star Award, 4 awards of the Legion of Merit and 2 awards of the Combat Infantry Badge. After he retired from the military, he worked for Barton Ashman, an engineering consulting firm. In 1978 he and Cissy opened The Scotland House, later renamed Thoroughbreds, in Middleburg, Va. He was a volunteer with The Pink Box, worked with the Middleburg Business Assoc, was a Founding member of Christmas in Middleburg, he was involved in the Middleburg Beauty and Preservation Committee and assisted in the Middleburg Gardens Tour and the Trinity Upperville Stable Tour. He also assisted in the development of the Pink Box Dream Garden and the Jacqueline Onassis Pavilion. He was an official scorer with his grandson’s baseball team. He was an active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Upperville when he lived in VA where he renewed his marriage vows with Cissy in 2000. He is survived by his children, Jim and his wife Debby and Dee Dee of Atlanta, GA and Ken and his wife Joan of Warrenton, VA, four grandchildren, Lauren, Michelle, Joseph, and Samantha. He was preceded in death by his wife Cissy. Memorial services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church on April 26, 2007 at 11 AM.
