Douglas Brandan Bullock, 64, of Walterboro, SC, passed away at home, surrounded by family on Monday, October 19, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 23, 1955 in North Chicago, IL to William M. Bullock and Patricia L. Bullock.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Laura and their daughters, Robin Roberts (John), April Woelfel (Matthew), Michelle Bullock, and Kimberly Jones (Taylor), along with 6 grandchildren and one more grandbaby on the way. He found great joy in the lives of his daughters, but the grandchildren were the sparkle in “Papa’s” eye.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beth Ann Cass.
After graduating from the University of Miami, Doug earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the Citadel. As a lifelong educator in Colleton County, Doug’s dedication to the community spanned generations and his influence shaped the lives of many. Not only was he passionate about education, he was a lifelong learner and loved to share his knowledge and opinions with his close friends. Whether it was math, computer technology, chess, football, golf, tennis, fishing, or most recently pickle ball, he enjoyed sharing his skills and connecting with others. His demeanor and stature could capture the attention of an entire football team, but on the inside, he was a tender-hearted family man with a humorous wit.
