Davis Hemby Robinson, Sr., 74, of Charlotte NC, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012. He was born August 13, 1938 to the late Davis and Faire Hemby Robinson in Charlotte. A Charlotte native, Davis graduated from Myers Park High School in 1956 and the Citadel in 1960. Davis was married to the late Lynda Bridgers of Altamonte Springs, FL. His daughter, Heather, predeceased him in 1996. Mr. Robinson is survived by his son, Davis Robinson, Jr. and wife Allison Jones Robinson. He was Bubba to grandson, Benny and granddaughters, Alexandra and Abby Lynn, whom he adored. He is also survived by his brother, Vernon J. Robinson; several cousins; and special friend, Peggy Byers. Davis followed his father in the family business, Art Flower Shop, which was established in 1925. After serving his Army obligation in Saumur, France, he ran the florist until 2000, when he retired. Davis had a love of life and a heart of gold. He never met a stranger and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Billy Flippen officiating.
